The spacious, mirrored rooms of Boundless Dance Studio are quiet during the day, reflecting their own emptiness. But when three o'clock hits, a flurry of ponytailed, leotard-clad students arrives, filling the spaces with choreographed activity and the shuffling of homework. The smell of microwaved snacks wafts from the student lounge. Because dance can often take a great portion of time in kids' lives — some dance up to six days per week — Boundless Dance owner Jen Gardiner has designed her studio with welcoming spaces where kids can chill out before and after dance classes.
